Preview Revealed for Yesung’s Solo Track, “For One Day”

Super Junior’s Yesung has picked up another OST project to sing for, this time for the historical drama, “Warrior Baek Dongsoo“.

Titled “For One Day“, Yesung’s newest track really emphasizes the emotional color of his voice against a powerful string arrangement.

AKB48 to Collaborate with Hello Kitty

It’s been reported that AKB48 will be collaborating with Hello Kitty for a new series of products called “AKB48 x Hello Kitty“.

This new series was designed after AKB48’s stage costumes, and will come in three different variations: Team A, Team K, and Team B. Hello Kitty will sport the team letter on the knot of her ribbons.

The first batch of products will include 12 items, such as memo pads, ringed notebooks, clear files, and mini towels. They will be sold in Sanrio stores at Sanrio World Ginza, Shinjuku Gift Gate, andIkebukuro Gift Gate starting early August, but will be available in advance at Sanrio Puroland from July 26th.

In commemoration of the “AKB48 x Hello Kitty” product launch, an event will be held at Sanrio Puroland on July 26th called, “AKB48 meets Hello Kitty“. Several AKB48 members are scheduled to attend the event.

Tohoshinki, Along with Other K-POP Groups are Active in The Japanese Market

On the 14^th of July, Oricon (Japanese Music Chart) summed up the sales of Music Merchandise for the first half of the year 2011 which include Singles, Albums and DVD.

Representative from Oricon stated “Comparing the sales of the Music Merchandise this year to the previous year, the market has decreased in size, but in general, Japanese Idol Group AKB48 as well as Korean Idol Groups Tohoshinki, SNSD and KARA have combined together to produce a ‘catalyst’ effect. In fact, for 6 years starting from the year of 2005, the sales for singles for the first half of the year increases each year.”

The representative also added that “Actually, the sales for Music DVD set the highest sales record in the market with 349.5 billion yen.”

Tohoshinki who have obtained a high popularity in Japan, lead the Music Merchandise sales. Other artists who have obtained the top front positions for sales include SNSD who obtained the 10^th position for album sales, KARA who obtained the 2^nd position for Music DVD sales and 12^th position for singles sales, and Jang Geun Suk who obtained the 15^th position for singles sales. In addition, Korean artists are given great appraisals in regards to their music which include album and Music DVD.

The total sales for singles released by K-POP singers is 151.5%.  In addition, the album sales have set a growth record with 116.9% as well.

Due to recession in the music industry as well as the impact of the Earthquake that have occurred in Japan, even though this is the period whereby there is an instability in the music industry, the singles that are sold for the first half of the year has exceeded the sales that was obtained for the previous year.

Representative from Oricon stated that more outstanding K-POP groups will be debuting in Japan and Oricon hopes that the good result can be maintain for the next half of the year.

Super Junior Comeback Choreography Lineup

Ever since Super Junior has started giving hints about their 5th album, fans are just curious to know every thing like their chrography,looks, comeback stage and what’s not. Super Junior’s previous album, Bonamana, was a big hit that brought a lot of fortune for the boys. Now its time for 5th one.

On July 15th, SM Entertainment choreographer Gregory Hwang  and Blackbeat member Shim Jaewon tweeted photos of the possible formation of Super Junior’s upcoming title song. The photos did not reveal much except possible formation. They tweeted  ”Forever our juniors, Super Junior!! Brainstorming the choreography… With @hydrayuge I want a go home…..” and “We are Super Junior~ Oh-eh-yo! hu hu hu hu wait for all of us…” After that another SM-E’s choreographer Rino Nakasone tweeted to both choreographers“Oh man, ya good luck with that formation………” to which Jaewon replied, “Rino u right… Hwang is stupid… Hahahaha.” and Gregory Hwang said, “We’re almost dying ……..  “  Through their conversations it seems like Super Junior are going to comeback with a super blast.

Moreover, It has been also confirmed that Super Junior’s 5th album teaser would be release on July 27th and title song on August 1st followed by full album release on August 3rd. However their comeback stage will be on KBS’s Music Bank on August 5th.

KBS Cancels JYJ’s Broadcast Appearance for ‘N7W’ Event

Back in May, JYJ became honorary ambassadors for Jeju Island as part of the ‘New Seven Wonders‘ initiative. KBS was to air a TV special on it to help promote Jeju Island for candidacy, however, the trio recently received a notice of cancellation regarding their appearance on the show.

On July 16th, JYJ’s management agency, C-JeS Entertainment, posted on their homepage, “Although JYJ was looking forward to the special ‘N7W‘ broadcast on the 20th as Jeju Island’s ambassadors, we received a cancellation notice today… We hope that the fans be patient with us and understand this sudden cancellation; after we discover why they were pulled, we will quickly post another bulletin.”

A JYJ official also stated, “With the broadcast only four days away, we suddenly received a notice of cancellation. We already got the plane tickets and even received a cue sheet. Additionally, two of the members are currently filming a drama and had already made arrangements to open up their schedule for this show. When the members heard the news, they couldn’t hide their upset feelings.”

The same official later added, “Furthermore, fans enthusiastically participated in voting for Jeju Island because of JYJ’s planned appearance. International fans also showed their dedication by participating, and in fact, there are fans coming in from Japan to see JYJ perform on the 20th. Their [KBS's] sudden notification – without any reason – makes the situation unfortunate and disappointing… This program is not like any regular entertainment show either. We prepared this with our desire to share how great the nation is; however, because they gave us a unilateral notice without any particular reason, we are slowly losing our strength because we feel so apologetic to our fans.”

The current situation seems quite ironic, as JYJ were chosen to be ambassadors under the assumption that the trio would bring in more international votes for Jeju Island. There were even videos featuring JYJ to further promote the event.

Taecyeon reveals Boyfriend’s Youngmin and Kwangmin were once JYPE trainees

Recently, 2PM’s Taecyeon revealed his close relations to Boyfriend twins, Youngmin andKwangmin.

On the July 15th broadcast of KBS 2TV’s ‘Music Bank‘, 2PM came in first place for the third week in a row, and thus received the honorary triple crown award. While 2PM performed their encore stage, fans noted that Taecyeon playfully put the twins in a headlock, which generated quite the buzz. As it turns out, the twins were once former JYP Entertainment trainees!

Later on the same day, Taecyeon tweeted, “Thank you for [awarding us with] the #1 spot on ‘Music Bank’! Thank you to those who made our 3rd week win possible. 2PM’s “Hands Up” promotional activities will soon be over… Youngmin and Kwangmin were trainees with us when we were trainees as well. During the encore [performance], I brought them along but it was very awkward… Hyung is sorry.”

In response, netizens commented, “The JYPE trainees are a part of a wonderful network”, “It seemed like you were going to kidnap those kids”, “You must have been happy that you both participated in a show together”, and “Park Jin Young must have had another stomachache.”

Who knew that the Boyfriend twins were former JYPE trainees?

TVXQ releases short version of “Superstar” MV

After numerous previews through Japanese TV programs earlier, idol duo TVXQ has unveiled the short version PV for their “Superstar” song!

Dressed in crisp white suits, the boys delivered slick dance moves in what appears to be a subway station. They also gave fans some serious eye-candy with their black outfit shots.
