Harvey Mason Jr. lauds, “Big Bang’s Taeyang is an amazing artist”

Taeyang’s talent can never go unnoticed – it’s definitely gotten the attention of a certain producer from The Underdogs.

On July 7th, Harvey Mason Jr. tweeted, “One record done. On to number 2 with @realtaeyang. Great artist to work with!” Fans on Twitter agreed that Taeyang is indeed a talented artist.

Mason Jr. said that they were about to reveal a video of Taeyang in a Lamborghini, and as the producer and artist were having a chat about the clip, “Taeyang’s fans had arrived and been waiting in front of the studio. Wow“. Mason Jr. momentarily expressed some surprise for the fans’ dedication.

The Underdogs’ is a R&B/POP production duo that consists of Harvey Mason Jr. and Damon Thomas, and they’re famous for working with artists like Justin Timberlake, Stacie Orrico, and Chris Brown.

Superkidd and the Brave Girls to cameo in ‘Protect the Boss’

Superkidd and the Brave Girls will be making cameo appearances in SBS’s upcoming drama, ‘Protect the Boss’!

The two groups will be joining the first episode in a scene with a CF photoshoot. To make it look like the real deal, the drama spent thousands on creating the set.  PD Park Sun Ho will be explaining the CF’s concept to the groups before they break into a parody of Cha Du Ri’s hit CF song, “Because of the Liver“.  The lyrics have been changed to “Because of Money”.

Directors said, “We’re hoping to catch attention not only with our lead roles, but with fun little scenes like this as well.  We’re sure that the two groups’ CF song, ‘Because of Money’, will earn great popularity.”

The drama begins airing on August 3rd!

TVXQ Tops Album Sales for First Half of 2011 with ‘Keep Your Head Down’

According to ‘Gaon‘ music chart, TVXQ is number 1 in terms of album sales for the first half of 2011. Their fifth album, ‘Keep Your Head Down,’ sold 230,922 copies between January 1st and June 30th to give them the overall top spot in sales.

The repackaged version of ‘Keep Your Head Down’ sold an additional 55,243 copies, landing the duo a complimentary spot at number nine as well.

Coming in second place was Big Bang’s fourth mini-album, ‘Tonight,’ with 133,951 copies sold.

B2ST placed third with their first full album ‘Fact and Fiction,’ which was released recently in May of 2011. The group has gained a tremendous amount of popularity recently and that’s reflected in the album sales as well with a total of 111,201 copies sold for the first half of 2011.

SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong’s first solo mini-album ‘Break Down‘ placed fourth with 100,433 in sales, the highest of all the solo singers.

Other notable artists include CNBLUE in fifth place, 2PM in seventh, and f(x) in eighth. The OST from drama ‘Secret Garden‘ ranked 10th.

‘Gaon’ is an on- and offline music sales chart that aggregates sales from the six main online music distributors Melon, Dosirak, Mnet, Bugs, Cyworld, and Soribada. Gaon is also a member of theKorea Music Content Industry Association.

‘Gaon’ stated, “There is no surprise that idol groups have the highest album sales for the first half of this year. Male groups with their fans’ support did especially well and left solo singers behind in sales.”

‘Dress-up’ idol group “Houkago Princess” to make their debut in August

It was announced today that a new idol group called Houkago Princess, short HouPri, are going to make their CD debut in August.

The unique part about this group is that fans are able to pick all of their outfits, which literally turns them into real-life dress-up dolls. Their fans will then also get to see them wearing the outfits for their performances in the group’s own live theater that is scheduled to open in Ikebukuro, Tokyo in August. Of course they will get to chose the outfits for the singles as well. For their debut song, they decided to wear school uniforms together with tiaras.

HouPri currently consists of seven members and since ‘houkago’ means ‘after school’, they have don’t have a leader but a student council president – Odagiri Nana (21). The other six girls are Chiba Sakino (20), Miyashita Mayuka (18), Kishitani Yuki (16), Yamaguchi Mai (16), Noda Hitomi (15), and Yumeka (14).

The group’s management doesn’t belong to any parent company like a big agency or a record label, so they simply gathered talented people to produce the group from the outfits, the music, the choreography, the members’ voice training and the group’s web presence. Their goal is to listen closely to the girls’ fans, starting with a fan meeting that will happen at the opening of the theater in August.

Their first single called “Houkago Princess ~ Oshiete Kudasai! ~” will be released on August 3rd, followed by a debut live performance at the Shinseido head office in Ogikubo, Tokyo. The CD will also include the songs “Sukidayo (Egao)” and “Ichigo Ichie“.

ZE:A Reveals MV for “Watch Out!”

After releasing a string of charismatic teasers, the ZE:A boys have finally returned with the release of their newest special single, “Exciting.” In addition to this, they’ve also released the MV for their title track, “Watch Out!”

Their title track, “Watch Out!”, is about asking people, “to be careful of having their hearts stolen at the point of confession.”

Other tracks on the single include “Heart For Two” (which was featured in their previous teaser and was written by member Jung Heechul) and “Why?“.

They’ll be making their comeback performance on KBS’s ‘Music Bank‘ on July 8th!

New Idol Group HITT Reveals Debut MV “Good Night”

A week ago, Sony Music announced that they’d be unleashing their very own idol group, ‘HITT‘ which is an acronym for ‘Here Is The Top.’ Now the group has finally made their debut with the release of their mini album and the MV for their title track, “Good Night.”

Beautiful actress Jang Hee Jin makes a cameo appearance in the video. The group has also received a heap of praise from Yiruma and 4MEN.
